Minnesota Junior Cycling supports young people, up to age 23, who love to ride bicycles. Members come from throughout Minnesota and have a wide range of cycling skills and abilities. A group of dedicated adult volunteers guide and coach the team to meet both individual and group goals.
Riders are split by age (12 to 18, 19 to 23). Members support each other with more experienced riders showing the new people the "ropes". No member is every "dropped". The group is together throughout the cycling season; training and racing to improve their physical fitness and cycling skills. Most events are located in and around the Twin Cities area. Some members, depending on ability and desire, travel throughout the State, and nationally to compete in events. We support training and racing for road cycling and cyclocross, but encourage riders to try all cycling disciplines. Our program provides a great cross-training opportunity for all endurance sports. Riders receive race support at all Minnesota Rider of the Year (ROY) events and Minnesota State Championship events. |
